"He's just so, so...FRENCH!"

So, for those of you who don't know, I have two major fears. They are well based ones and I have a jolly good reason for fearing them.

The first of my fears is spiders. Now I know what you be thinking, all girls fear spiders. Well...HA! My cousin adopts them. And carries them around, as does a friend of mine who is also a girl. So there. But me, I have that arachnophobia thing. Me and spiders are like Indiana Jones and snakes. Oil and water. Mordor and Aragorn. Fire and water - which I think is the name of a song. The Doctor and the Master. Termites and....well, you get the idea. So yeah, I don't like spiders. I see legs hanging off a wall and jump ten feet, then go stiff as a board. Even fake spiders do this to me. Supposedly it is great fun to watch but if you are thinking of trying it I should warn you, I will hunt you down.

My second fear isn't as bad, at least, I don't run into it as much so it doesn't seem as bad. I have a healthy fear of needles. Whenever I see one in movies I close my eyes, you should have seen me during Captain America. I just hate the idea of something that long and skinny injecting who knows what into my body. And if the doctor is named Muller, well he can think twice! Muller was the insane doctor in Tintin who tried to have him killed. Never trust a doctor named Muller, that's my policy.

So, now that you know that, you can know why I've not been around much lately. As I've said, I am sick. I don't know with what, but every time I eat, no matter what I eat, I get queasy. This has been going on for two months. I've tried everything but it is time to face the doctor. And, that means blood work, with those evil needles. And, as you can guess, I am just jumping up and down in glee to go. 8-P

I say all that to say, I've not felt like writing much. Everything is sluggish and odd and though I am working on NaNo still I am not sure how it is going to go. Hard to write when all I want to do is sleep.

But, in better news, I have a new book I am doing for NaNo. And now you have the honor of having the first sneak peak at a book that has been about two years in the making.

Long ago, the last king of Nightshade fought in a battle that would forever decide the fate of his kingdom. It was a long, bloody battle and though he slayed his enemy in the end, he fell as well. As he fell, he snapped his own sword in two but when his men found his body, the sword was not there.
A hundred years later a young man wakes up on a farm. He doesn't know how he came to be there, where he is from, or even his own name. He only remembers one thing. He has to find a sword. Setting out on a quest to find the missing blade of the last king, he meets four young men from completely different backgrounds. Together, they learn that a new enemy is planning on taking the divided kingdom and the only hope for freedom lies in the missing sword. But how can secrets that have been locked up for a hundred years be revealed? And what links do they have with a young man's lost memory?

This story is titled The Broken Blade. It is a Steampunk, mid-evil type novel and the first in a three or four part series. It is my dream book. A story about swords, quests, rangers, and secrets. I mean, really, you can't beat that!

I might not make it far in the story as I still have to work on the third book in the World War Series. But if I don't get it done during NaNo it will be my  next project. As of right now I FINALLY found a beginning for it. That is the reason it hasn't been written in two years, it never had a beginning. And, well, you jolly well need a beginning.

So, there you have it, my REAL NaNo project...sort of. Now, I have to get ready for work.

 ALONS-Y!!
