"I am not the one who abandoned Narnia!" "You invaded Narnia! You have no more right to lead it then Miraz does. You, him, your father! Narnia's better off without the lot of you."

ANNOUNCEMENT! As you all know I have been working on the last book in the series. I made it to chapter ten the other day but I have never liked how the book was turning out. I kept telling myself it was just because I was sick and when I re-read it and edited it I would like it. But I couldn't get over the feeling that it was a horrible way to end a series and wouldn't be fair to readers or characters. So it is official. I am scrapping it and starting over. And here are my reasons why.

One: I finished NaNo so I get a free copy of whichever book I send in. I want to send it all four and get a big copy of them all for fun. So I have been writing like mad to get it done. Forcing it all out. I can write under deadlines but this was a pointless one and it was ruining the story.

Two: The final book has to tie a lot of things up and has to be the most carefully written of the four. However, since getting sick, I lost sight of what things HAD to be in it and which didn't. I was putting everything in that didn't need to be there and leaving out everything that had.

Three: The last book is VERY exciting and has a lot going on. I was working hard on this one, making sure it was exciting at every chapter. But I was actually making it dull. What makes it exciting is the characters and their struggles and I was leaving this out to make room for other things. Revamping the plot has fixed this and I can still have the last exciting - things that I can't tell you about - and more importantly I can have the characters as the central plot. This is they're story and I cannot change that or the ending will be ruined for everyone.

Therefore, I am doing this re-write as much for you, my readers, as I am for me and the characters. And already I feel relieved. The moment I decided to re-write it I knew I was doing the write thing. There isn't much that can be saved from the first draft, but that is okay. In writing, this sometimes have to happen. Things have to be tried and scrapped to know what is really needed.

Now I will go away happy to work on the first chapter and to edit my letter, which I think is finally coming around!

 Allons-y!!

  1. I'm glad you feel so good about re-writing the book. It is sorta sad that you have to start over, but if the story is better it will be worth it. :D

I can't wait to finish this series. It's one of my favorites. <3
