"Aw, yes - John Green." "Jason Grace." "Whatever."

Today was an Indian Summer day, if one bundled up and didn't stay too long in the shadows. I reached my 30,000 word goal by noon so decided to talk advantage of the weather, and the sun. (I also cooked lunch, a hot, real cooked lunch not thrown in the microwave.)
After I ate I wrapped up and walked down to the library where I found a book I've been waiting for. Wildwood. They still don't have Snicket's new book.
Walking home, I read a little while trying to avoid the cracks in the sidewalk. Then I sat on a picnic table in the sun and read a chapter. The park was quiet so it was a peaceful place to stop for a read before heading home.

And I say all that just to put off the trailer just a little longer, because I'm evil like that.

I must admit, I am wary about the trailer. Nowadays trailers I picked apart like a roasted turkey at Thanksgiving. And I'm certain mine isn't going to be "knock you out of your chair amazing." I am pleased with it, William and my actors did a lot of hard work, which only makes me more nervous. It isn't really my work which will be put out there but theirs. What if I didn't put it together right?
However, they liked it, and I like it, so that has to count for something.
I truly hope all of you like it as well. The scenes from it will all be in the book and I've added something extra at the end. Something just for all of you.

The something is the reason Isidore is no longer talking to me. (Correct me if I'm wrong after you see it, but doesn't he look so cute in it?! I kind of called him cute to his face and he moved down to Africa with Clair until I start work on book two. That is how mad he is.)

Okay, enough though. I shall end the wait, and a certain reader's torment *wink*. I hope it was worth the wait. (You all know what this means, right? My book will be out in a month!)

 Trailer.

A close up of the something extra
Isidore in the Closet

This picture was an extra, a kind of bonus Clair did. We both wanted one of him asleep in the closet but it wasn't ever picked, so she did it anyways. Since it was a bonus, I figured I would be nice and share it with all of you. Now you can see how brilliant and amazing she is, and get a sneak peak at what the pictures in the book will look like. (Isn't he SOO cute when he's asleep?!) Okay, I should really stop tormenting him.

I'm going to bed now.

Yes, another Percy Jackson quote. I warned you.

 Allons-y!

  1. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! YAAAAY!!! (And finally! But I won't shout that at you.)

It's AWESOME! I LOVE IT! And...okay, caps lock off. Really. No need. Oh, hang, yes there is. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. YAY!!!

(PS, was the wink for me?)

  2. Really good! Much better than the trailer I made for Sew, which involved merely me reading the prologue while I showed pictures I took in the woods behind my house. Not only that, but it has Sew's old cover ... hmm ... maybe I should redo it ...

Later of course, right now, my focus is Take and book 3.

  3. I like it! You have scenes! The preveiw for my book involved just pictures from the internet (so now I'm not even sure if I can make a YouTube video out of it) and music I had on hand that I pieced in there. I am looking foward to the book.
Btw, did you notice that your book is scheduled fort release the same day The Hobbit goes into theaters in the U.S.? So those of us in the States will all go see the Hobbit then come home and start reading! (Actually, I don't plan to see the Hobbit that day (too crowded) and I will probably ask for the book for Christmas).

    1. You might be able to make a youtube video with yours. I think you will just have to type in "Copyright yountube videos" and see what they say about pictures. This is how I found out which songs I could and could not use.

Aye, I actually put it on the same date on purpose to keep things easier for me. I can remember dates better if something is happening that day. Also it was the right distance from Christmas, giving everyone a chance to get it BEFORE Christmas for presents if they so wish.

Yeah, going opening day is going to be busy. I have to get my ticket ahead of time and stand out in the cold. I shall have to wrap up like a mummy...

  4. Congrats on getting to your word goal! I know how good I always felt when I hit tat magical number before 11pm!

Yeah!! The book trailer is fantastic! I loved it, and you actors did a great job, the music fit the feel of the trailer perfectly and the editing in splendid!

Now I'm even more excited for the book to come out! Which I guess is kind of the point, isn't it? ;-)

  5. That was FANTASTIC!!!!! Brilliant job!! My favorite line is the one about the safety of the world being the the hands of a band of misfits.

Oh, and that Enya song is one of my favorites!!

    Bravo!!!

  6. Great job! But why...and Enya song?? Of all epic, dramatic, and heart-wrenching songs, why "Book of Days"??
(not that it doesn't work out wonderfully, I'm just curious... ;)

    God bless,

  7. It sounds like you had a very nice day. Don't you just love picking out a beatiful spot to sit and read in?

You did very well on the editing! And all of your actors seemed to really have fun acting for this trailer :) The book looks wonderful... I really would love to read it. I've been looking for steampunk books....

Your snippet from the last book was interesting. I wanted more *Grin* How is your Nano coming? (That book is for Nano right?)

You got the Mark of Athena **happy dance** How is it? (When I saw the quote "Bring me Back" I was like; "Oh, Doctor who quotes now?" Then you said "Its from the Mark of Athena" and I was like :-o "SHE GOT IT!!!!"

    God Bless

PS. I've written nearly 10,000 words. Now my characters are angry with me for something and wont speak to me. They keep trapping themselves. I must make amends somehow.

    1. I do like finding nice reading spots, yes. I have trouble finding them and would never think of a picnic table...but the sun was so warm and it felt so fallish. It turned out to be one of the best I've ever found.

Oh, the actors seemed to love it. Sometimes I had trouble getting them to actually act, they were having so much fun. It was very funny. I cannot wait to do it again. I love working with them.

Aye, DragonSlayer is my NaNo book. I think it will be a soon to be published one as well.

Mark of Athena is great! I am almost a quarter way through and love it. Sadly though, I saw how it ends. (Spoilers on the internet 8-P) But I am REALLY enjoying having Percy back. That is the best part. I am REALLY starting to like Leo as well. I was starting to get to like him in The Lost Hero, but it is fast becoming a favourite. He is very quirky and fun. Have you got it yet?

Have you made peace with your characters? What is your count now?

  9. Great word count! Don't underestimate your trailer, either.

  10. Oh my word oh my word oh my word oh my word!!! AHHHHHH!!! I'M SO EXCITED! That was a super cool trailer!! I loved it! All those sword fights! And oh my word Clair is a brilliant artist. Her drawings remind me of Sidney Paget's Sherlock Holmes drawings.
Anyway, I am looking very very forwards to your book. My mom and I are going to order Haphazardly Implausible and the Short Story Collection together so they can come together and we can put them under the tree because it is SO much more fun to put things under thre tree just for the sake of SEEING them there. And then I'll open it and then I'll take the books to Canada and I'll read them cuddled up and it will be fantastic.

Amd oh my word oh my word oh my word oh my word The Master!! Oh my word! He's so evil! Yet he's so Timelord! AHHH!

    *epicness overload*

  11. That was very well-filmed! Props to your director.
I enjoyed the trailer a lot. When the book comes out, I am going to find a way to get my hands on a copy!
