"My mother was a caterpillar. My father was a worm...but I'm okay with that now."

Wherein Jack Admits To Being Worn Out

Everything is set up and ready to go for the 14th, well, after I finish up one last thing. Now all I want to do is sit in the sun and read. (Which is kind of what I've been doing. *Grin*)
I think I've short circuited myself and right now I can't think of anymore characters to write about. Therefore, I'm thinking of taking a bit of a break the next day. I shall return on Friday to make sure everything is up and running for the book release.

Until then I leave you with this. A picture of the map of the Seven Kingdoms which will be appearing in the book. (This map was made for me by a friend when I first wrote the book about four years ago. He was the one who helped me the most when I first got the idea for the book. {In other words he did all the hard stuff such as plotting out the layout of the land.} He did an amazing job.)

Second picture was taken by my photographer today. A new author picture for that little slot on the back of the book. (Or on the inside if you are Riley.)

Since my last author picture was taken in the snow with me in my swimsuit by a pool, I figured this time it was only fair for me to wear winter clothing in 80 degree weather. (Summer has finally come to the frozen wasteland.)

Lastly, don't forget there is still time to enter my giveaway for one free, signed copy of my book. If you wish to enter just write a character post and leave a comment on my blog, telling me you've done so. I will enter your name and announce the winner on the 14th.

Also, for my after publication party I am having a...interview...thingy. I will be interviewing fellow authors. If anyone is interested please email me or leave me a comment. You don't have to have a finished or published book to enter. Even if you are working on a book or plotting it I'd love to have you.

Whoever guesses the title quote gets one of John's cookies!

 Allons-y!

  1. Poor Jack. Have some cookies. I understand they are good for people who are worn out.

A MAP!!!! I LOVE maps!!!! This one is very cool! I shall have to study it more later....

Ooooohhh!!!! The new author picture is GREAT!!!! Unique with a hint of mystery. *nods head* *in Nine's voice* - Fantastic! I like the lilac bush off to the side. Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers.

I'm hoping to have time to write a character post before the 14th, but I don't know.... My computer is having issues so I haven't been online a great deal lately.

I would like to participate in your interview thingy. I'll email you in the next couple days.

Have a good rest for the next few days!

  3. That map is very cool. I love it when a book has a reference map. It makes the work feel more real to me.

Your new author picture is really cute. I think I like it even better than the pool picture. I have a thing for umbrellas. :D

    Cheers!

  4. I knew the quote was from Vegetales! (Even before Abbey's comment). I knew it!!!

Lovely profile picture. It's really Lemony-Snicket-ish. :) And I'm excited about this giveaway!

  5. Cool map, I always enjoy world building elements like that. It gives the fiction world a sense of realism similar to what Tolkien did in the Lord of the Rings.

  6. My character post for your drawing is up! http://jenelleschmidt.com/anne-shirley/

Ah, the exhaustion of a writer. Hopefully some good, relaxing reading time will help recharge your batteries.

I did not know the quote was from VeggieTales... but I knew I recognized it from somewhere!

  7. Books with maps are always good. I reference them a lot, since I'm terribly at mapping out where things are in my head. (That, or I just map them upside down and loopsy compared to how the reality of the geography is.)

Oh! And I love the new author picture!

  8. Lugi? Is that the name of Jonah's insect companion? He's from veggietales, I know that.

That map looks very cool! Sigh. I wish I had some maps of my worlds. Bookania especially. I've made several attempts, but none of them look right.

And I love your new profile picture. It's so pretty!

  9. Veggietales! Jonah! Never grows old. :)

I like the new author picture. :)

Perhaps I need a map for my world. That might help. I know certain kingdoms are in the north or they are east of a different kingdom. But an actual map? I should get onto that.

  12. I am excited about the map. I *love* maps. And I love it when books include maps, so that I can pour over the characters route as I read the story. Your new profile picture is classy.

My second entry for your give away.
---At least, I hope it counts as an entry. It's a bit different then the last one that I did on Finnick Odair.

Hope it's not too late (I know I'm cutting it close here)!

  14. Quote is Kahlil from Jonah!

Here. Have virtual chocolate and a good book for your exhaustion. Someone, get a computer technician to fix Jack's short-circuiting problem. Oh, nevermind, I'll fix it. I need a drill and a book on wiring. :)

I'll be part of the interview. :)

    1. Robyn! You're back! *Grin* (I always miss your comments.)

Yes...well, I know it is from Jonah, I don't remember the fellows name. I just know he is Jonah's "Traveling buddy." So I will take your word on it and give you a cookie anyways.

Wonderful about the interview! Do I have your email?

    2. Thanks for the cookie! :)
I'll send you an email. That way you don't have to hunt down my email address.
BTW, I love your new picture. I wish I had old-fashioned clothes like that.
