"If you tell anyone about this I will personally poison your food."

This summer I read a lot of children's books as well as adventure books and most of the Tintin ones.

Penderwicks in Spring
I love all of the Penderwick books, but this one is probably my favourite. I loved the chance to get to know Batty and Ben better. That said, this was also the saddest of the series. I cried shamelessly

The Sherwood Ring
PAT! PEACEABLE! THIS BOOK! I loved it much more than I thought I would. I plan to reread it at some point.

Treasure Island
Personally I liked Kidnapped better, but this one was still a fun adventure. I did like Ben a lot.

Escape from the Island of Aquarus
This had everything an adventure book should have. Complete with the rope bridge. (It's one of the Cooper Kids books.)

The Tombs of Anak
Another Cooper Kid book. I really liked this one. (Giants and the Anik which are talked about in the Bible.)

The Ordinary Princess
I read this one night I couldn't sleep. It's adorable and the pictures make the story even more enjoyable.

Blue Bay Mystery
I'm trying to finish the Boxcar Children books. And that's about all I can say about this one.

Finding the Magic
My book, which I was editing.

The Princess and the Sage
I LOOOVE this story. It was a reread, but it is always worth rereading about the Sage and the king and his why questions.

Under the Willow
John's book. Which I edited.

The Wind in the Willows
Toad and Rat and Mole. This is an enchanting book and always makes me want to mess about in boots. (Another reread.)

Beyond Spiderwick: The Nixie's Song
I liked the Spiderwick books so much I decided to try and read the second series. I missed Jared and Simon but I still enjoyed this series.

Beyond the Call
Robert Tremble. This is a must read. (A WWII story of a pilot who went behind Russian lines to smuggle POWs and escaping Jews out.)

More About Paddington
I love Paddington. Everyone should

The Tailor of Gloucester
A Beatrix Potter story, so of course it was wonderful

Cigars of the Pharaoh
Tintin Story

Beyond Spiderwick: A Giant Problem
Jared showed up which made me happy

The Tale of Two Bad Mice
Beatrix Potter

Shadow Scale
I liked this one up to the end, when the Author ruined one of my favorite friendships in the story by randomly making one of the characters gay and in love with her best friend. If it hadn't been for that I would have loved the book.

Beyond the Spiderwick: The Wyrm King
Not the ending I'd hoped for but I still loved it.

The Blue Lotus
Tintin 8-D

The Tale of Two Bad Mice
Beatrix Potter - I finally finished the story collection

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
This one was weird but I still enjoyed it. I plan to read the second.

King Ottokar's Sceptre
Tintin!

Paddington Helps Out
See, love Paddington

The Tale of Ginger and Pickles
Potter

The Tale of Mr. Tod
Potter

The Tale of Pigling Bland
Potter, this one was cuter than I thought it would be.

Stone Curse
This was from the Beauty and the Beast Story Collection and written by Jenelle Leanne Schmidt, my kindred spirit and Author of King's Warrior and Second Son. I really enjoyed the story, not just the characters but the enchanting writing style.

Ain't We Got Fun
A letter game about two sisters in the Great Depression. Not only was it a lot of fun it was much sweeter than I had thought it would be.

Continuing Destiny
By Sarah Holman. I did love all of the stories, they just made me miss Quint.

Our Accidental Adventure
This was a shorter story about three siblings who have a run in with pirates when their rafting trip goes wrong. It was so much fun to read

Go Set A Watchman
The book which had all of America talking a bit back. The book that showed us all Atticus is human. I plan on doing a review soon. But to sum up, I liked it.

Corroded Thorns
A Beauty and the Beast re-telling.

The Silver Chair
Narnia. My favorite Narnia.

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl
Finally got around to reading this one. Took me long enough. While I am not sure what I think of Anne I can see why everyone reads her journal. A first hand look at what it was like for the Jews hiding from the Nazis

Brothers and Betrayal
Another Sarah Holman book. I really like her books and this one didn't let me down. John!

Trapped at the Bottom of the Sea
Another Cooper Kid book

A Purple and Gold Afghan
A short, fun romance story. Really cute

The Deadly Curse of Toco-Rey
Cooper Kids

Destination Moon
Tintin! This one has the scene where Haddock breaks a chair in half because he's so concerned about Tintin

Explorers on the Moon
And the one Tintin book where he yelled at Haddock

The Calculus Affair
I love all the books, but this one is particularity fun. It's a wild adventure even for Tintin.

The Red Sea Sharks
SKUT!!!! I love that man. So. Much. He needed to hang out with Tintin more.

Tintin in Tibet
This one has my all time favourite scene. Which makes it one of my top favourite out of all the books.

The Castafiore Emerald
Another Tintin story

Flight 714 to Sydney
It took me forever to decide if I liked the ending in this one. I had to re-read it about three times. I finally have decided I do. It just is something which would happen to Tintin.

Tintin and the Picaros
This one I don't like as much. It got a little too....sixties for me. And Tintin should never wear jeans. But, still, it wasn't horrible.

Tintin and Alpha-Art
The final book. Herge died before he was able to complete it. A lot of people who have read it have said they believed Herge planned to kill Tintin in this story. Some also believe he planned to give him a girlfriend. This was the first time I'd read it, and I'm not sure I believe either. When I read the supposed death scene there were too many things which implied Herge planned to get Tintin out in time. As for the girl, while I could see her as a possible girlfriend, Tintin was too busy chasing down bad guys for him to slow down long enough for a girlfriend. Still, since we will never know, we can still speculate.

The Silver Shawl
A short western story. I liked it but it wasn't my favourite

Beyond the Western Deep: Volume One
This! It is a comic book story which is being written and posted online. And I love it! It feels kind of like Redwall. Everyone should read it.

Tintin in the Land of the Soviets
The first Tintin story. I've read it before, but I didn't realize what a little brat Tintin was when he was younger. It cracked me up

Winter Soldier: Comic Book Collection
Comic book. Real comic book. And I liked it. It takes place sometime after Age of Ultron. I don't know if they are going to make movies this far in the Marvel time line. All I know is it takes place after all the movies currently out

Aces High
This is the book about Dick Bong and Tommy McGuire. The two top scoring aces in WWII. I loved reading about their lives, but I had no idea how both died until I was halfway through the book. (I cried when I read about their deaths.)

The Game
A short Dianna Wynne Jones book. It was weird, weird even for her, but still fun to read.

Sea of Monsters: Graphic Novel
I found this while looking for Calvin and Hobbes. The drawings even look like Percy, so I liked it more than I thought I would.

Avengers (Comic Book Collection)
Not as fun as the Winter Soldier one. It was all right but I didn't really like it.

Doomwyte
One of the last Redwall books. To be honest, while I liked it for the sake of getting to go back to Redwall, I didn't really enjoy it. Not even the main mouse, Bisky, and the friendship was kind of a let down. But I guess this happened with some of his later books. Still, as I said, Redwall. So it wasn't a waste of reading

A friend's book
One of my friends wrote a little story about a Dragon and a fox named Martin and let me read it. LOVED it.

Quote is from Hogan's Heroes, when some of them dress up as girls to help the girls they dressed up as to escape Germany.

  2. Tintin. Tintintintintintin. All the ones you mentioned are some of my favorites. I love Flight 714. And the moon books. I've been reading Explorer's on the Moon for about six months now... It would take about twenty minutes to finish, but twenty minutes can be very hard to find.
