"Okay, you have fat hair, but when you're ready to talk I'm here."

In which Life happened.

And soup.

But mostly life.

It has been a month since I've written. likely. Because I am ashamed. I failed NaNo this year. *Sigh* Such is life. I blame school. It was a hard semester. I hated every moment of it, and I love school.

But now school is over, and it is December. I usually take a break from writing in December, for Christmas reasons, but I've been having fun writing again so will likely continue this month.

Other things in life happened. (No, I am not engaged if that is where your mind went.) No, dogs happened. I am puppy sitting for my friends. Three small puppies who love to claim my bed as their own.

A cat also happened. His name is Oscar from Pandora Hearts. He is an older cat and as sweet as a cat should be. He cuddles with me, especially when I am trying to read.

Today baking happened. And my phone completely died. I wouldn't care normally. I can live without a phone, but I got a new job and they need to keep in contact with me as we deal with all the paperwork. So, now I am without a phone during the one time in my life when I actually need one.

Oh well. Again, such is life.

My car also died, but thank God - I mean that literally - it was under warranty and I didn't have to pay anything to have it fixed. Also, I have the best adopted big brother in the whole wide world and I will stand by this claim.

Right now I am enjoying a snug evening alone. I was able to go out the other day and get my Christmas tree. I made soup for dinner, a tasty soup, and I had apple cider to go with it. The doggies have settled down. And over all life is happy at the moment.

I am going to be off now, like a herd of turtles, and bury myself in a fuzzy blanket with a good book and Christmas music. And chocolate. Because chocolate.

  1. And a cat and three puppies.
Glad school is over. If you're on a roll with writing, keep at it.
Hope you got your phone fixed. You do need one, even when you don't.

  2. Yay to liking writing! and soup... is yummy! :)

  3. Did you write words in November? Did you start and make excellent progress on a story that you've been wanting to write of quite some time? Yes, Jack, you did. You did not fail NaNo. You just didn't make the 50,000.

  4. I bet the soup was delicious. I hope life calms down for you, I know I go crazy when I don't have time to write.
